Welfare Policy

Much of the unique appeal for veteran cricketers is that its games are played not only within its Laws, but also within the spirit of the game.

Embracing the spirit of the game means participating, either as a player or as an official, fairly and exhibiting respect for other players and officials and the game’s traditional values of graciousness in defeat and humility in victory.

Veterans Cricket Victoria is committed to the highest standards of fair play and personal behaviour on and off the field with a  culture of no tolerance for discrimination, harassment and abuse.

The positive virtues of playing sport are well documented and Veterans Cricket Victoria is a strong advocate of the value of regular exercise and the health and fitness benefits derived from playing the game of cricket. Equally important is the enjoyment and social interaction that the game provides for mature aged cricketers.

Veterans Cricket Victoria is committed to the health, safety and well-being of all participants by providing a safe environment for playing the game of cricket throughout Victoria. To that end Veterans Cricket Victoria, have developed appropriate risk management and emergency response guidelines. Members are required to act in accordance with these guidelines.
