Expression of Interest - Over 70s National Championships

To All VCV Over 70s Players: 

 

The 2025 Over 70s National Cricket Championships will be held on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast from 27th August to 3rd September 2025 and will cater for 16 teams in 2 Divisions of 8 teams each. (NOTE: Depending on player interest, this number may be increased to 24 teams subject to ground availability.)

 

PROPOSED SCHEDULE

Wednesday 27th Aug:  Captains, Managers & Umpires Meeting and Meet & Greet (details tba).

Thursday 28th & Friday 29th Aug: Rounds 1 & 2 Championship Matches.

Saturday 30th & Sunday 31st Aug: Rest days. 

Championship Dinner Saturday night 30th Aug (details tba).

Monday 1st Sept: Round 3 Championship Matches .

Tuesday 2nd Sept: Finals in Division 1 & 2 and Playoffs (possibly Div 3).

Tuesday 2nd Sept: Afternoon/Evening: Presentations etc (details tba)

All Grounds will have Turf wickets and amenities. Proposed locations include Tewantin-Noosa Cricket Club, Yandina Cricket Club, Palmwoods Cricket Club and Maroochydore Cricket Club. Others will be added, subject to availability.

 

Victoria is looking to field at least 4 teams and hopefully more. This will depend on interest from other states and whether there is a Third Division.

 

IMPORTANT ACTION: If you wish to nominate for the Over 70s Nationals, please respond by return email to secretary@vcv.org.au  and include your current email address and mobile number.

Please do this by Friday 7th March as responses will determine the number of teams Victoria wishes to enter.
