OVER 80s Hammer-McGlynn Shield, Cup Day - 4 Nov 2025

“HAMMER’S HEROES VS MCGLYNN’S MARVELS”

Confirming that with support from Buffalo Sports and Caulfield RSL the Hammer-McGlynn Shield Over 80s Cricket Match is forging ahead for Cup Day, Tuesday 4 November, 2025.

A reminder that the match is to be played at Holmes Todd Oval which is the rear oval at Elsternwick Park. If weather is unsuitable for a turf match, the back-up ground is Hurlingham Park, East Brighton.

The game will start at 10.00am with lunch provided for players and officials.

Buffalo Sports will be providing a shirt and playing cap for this match.

The game will consist of 36 overs per team and played under Over 75 Festival of Cricket Rules.

The game is expected to be completed prior to the running of the Melbourne Cup and further activities are planned to celebrate the running of the Cup.

There will be a BBQ for players, guests and officials to follow the match.
